I don't know where I got it in my head that there was an "off-season" when it comes to farming. It seems that the second the clock struck midnight on 1-1-15, my mind began to organize the timeline of events for the upcoming season. "How high's the water Momma?"
We had a bit of excitement in these parts the last few days. After dealing with quite a bit of rain, our watershed appeared to have had enough. Several areas in Western Washington experienced flooding- including Centralia. This is something new for us, but for residents who have lived through "The Big One", this is par for the course. Waste-not, Want-not
One thing is certain- there is no shortage of delectable treats around the holidays. If you happen to host a number of events, you're probably dealing with some leftovers. This year, I found that I had some pulla leftover that either needed to be used- or fed to the chickens. I chose to make Pulla Bread Pudding.
