2020 Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)
February 25th, 2020
Thank you for looking into how you can support a local farmer! We greatly appreciate the opportunity to share with you the fruits of our labors.....and this year, we're looking at doing something a bit different. We are searching for a limited number of families that would like to partner with us by purchasing a "Servant Share CSA" beginning June 2nd- September 1st (14 weeks). Regardless of which box you choose, a portion of your purchase will be used to donate fresh produce to elders in our community who struggle to access food systems- for whatever reason- financial, transportation, etc. In that same vein, if you purchase a CSA share from "The Flower Patch at Seedpod Farm", Farmer Ellie will be donating bouquets to a local hospice agency for distribution throughout Lewis County. We are thrilled to be able to bring a bit of beauty into the lives of our neighbors as they walk the final leg of their journey.
We believe we have been abundantly blessed-
and we aim to give out of that abundance.
We've found that our partners feel the same way.
COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA) OPTIONS FROM SEEDPOD FARM:
Servant-Work Share- For 14 weeks- starting June 2nd through September 1st, we are asking folks to provide 2 hours of work per week tending the veg patch along with the Seedpod Family. This would be an opportunity for families to be connected with where their food comes from, watch the progress of plants they've started from seed and learn what it takes to put food on the table. In addition to helping to harvest your week's share, we will also be preparing food to donate---passing along the abundance. We have chosen to focus on low income seniors that might not have access to other food outlets. This service opportunity will be a fun way to get some fresh air, dig in the dirt, and provide food for your family and neighbors. Price per share- $350/14 weeks. Tuesday or Wednesdays
Servant Share: Pick Up Only- Don't have time to join us on Tuesday or Wednesday mornings? You can pick up your CSA Share that evening along with recipes, newsletters and the knowledge that you're also supporting seniors in need. Weekly shares available at $392/14 weeks....Pick up by appointment on Tuesday or Wednesdays ideally.
Seedpod CSA Sampler- During the CSA Season, we also have CSA Sampler boxes available for $30. These are by appointment only.
Seedpod Farm Heritage Poultry Egg Share CSA- Beautiful, pasture-raised heritage chickens enjoying food you'd recognize, pasture, sun and all the bugs they can eat! 8 dozen eggs for $34 ($4.25/doz). Otherwise $4.50/dozen- call ahead for availability.
Seedpod Farm Pasture-Raised Turkey- Our birds sell out at our Spring Festival. $50 deposit required to reserve your pasture raised bird. Balance due upon receipt in November.
Seedpod Square Foot Starter Kit- Everything you need to plant up your own 4' x 10' bed. $75- Seeds and seedlings as well as a plan. Deliveries to Tacoma, Olympia, Centralia and Vancouver the third weekend of May.
The Flower Patch CSA- 14 weeks ($210) Starting June 2nd, 2020-Sept 2nd, 2020. A Fall Share will be available after that until the first frost (generally October) seasonal flowers will be crafted and available for pick up Tuesday or Wednesday mornings.
Thank you for the opportunity to be your farmers. We look forward to getting to know you and sharing with you our passion to grow ethically-raised produce and animals.

B. OUR GROWING PRACTICES
Seedpod Farm is a family-run farm located on the banks of the Skookumchuck River in Lewis County, Washington. We believe in being good stewards of our land- and as such are striving to utilize sustainable and naturally grown practices in raising our produce and livestock. Our nearly 22 acre farm is home to a pasture-raised flock of Heritage Delaware chickens and a few hives of honeybees in addition to a generous Vegetable Patch, Orchard, Cut Flower Patch & Pumpkin Patch. We have roughly 18 acres of hay.
We utilize our own hay for our livestock, compost with care and provide our poultry with a locally sourced whole grain diet in addition to all the insects they can find in our pasture.

B. SHARING IN THE REWARD OF CROP SURPLUS
This year we will be doing only direct farm sales or donating it to a local food pantry. We may experiment with new varieties of vegetables, fruits, grains, herbs or flowers so that we can increase diversity of our offerings.
Section 3. Picking Up Shares
